On 29 August 2019, the Honorable Prime Minister launched nation wide”FIT INDIA MOVEMENT ” aimed to encourage us to inculcate physical activity and sports in our everyday lives and daily routine. So as to take the mission forward, CBSE has decided that each year a total of 6 working days during the Third and Fourth week in November will be celebrated as “FIT INDIA SCHOOL WEEK”.
“ Fit India Movement aims to encourage people to inculcate physical activity and people sports in their everyday lives. “ Though going through the hardships of pandemic Indians are aware about their health and physical fitness. As an initiative of the Government of India this year also of the schools were asked to organise Fit India school week 2020 by organizing virtual activities.
Being a part of it and as a concern to the fitness of our Garimayans our school. Observed Fit India school week 2020 Where the following where the following activities are performed Day wise where students and teachers took part in increased making it a success.
“ To enjoy the glow of good health you must exercise.” A Virtual assembly of free hand exercises was organized for all the students through zoom app. ID’s and pass codes were sent to all the classes (Nur. To XII) through their whatsapp groups. Our expert PTI faculty Mr. Dushyant Sharma took live classes marking students learn free hand exercises which were according to age appropriateness performed exercises as per the instructions with great gusto .
Students were directed to deliver a lecture on “Diet and Nutrition “ through their lecture videos “Your body is your temple . Keep it pure and clean for soul to reside in.” The topics were different for different class groups related to “ Health and Fitness.” Students gave their best and their participation reflected their zeal.
“Participation means not only being there but also being an active learner in the same instructional routines as those experienced by students .” Activities on this day had a verity according to different grades and age appropriate.

Debate in Virtual Classes on the topic “ Is Physical fitness more important than Mental Fitness. “ Students participation was very appreciable which was reflected through their entries.
“ Questions are the engines of intellect the cerebral machines which convert energy to motion and curiosity to controlled inquiry .” A Virtual Quiz competition was organized as grades (class groups ) and age appropriateness. This quiz competition was divided into two sections:
It was in the format of GOOGLE form & students’response was being received in increased.
“The nature of yoga is to shine the light of awareness into the darkest corners of the body.”
A virtual “Perfect Yoga Performance Competition” was organized in which students sent their pics & videos of their Yoga Performance. Their entries were in lot which revealed their enthusiasm. This was a fruitful step in the form of activity to make the students learn the importance of Yogasanas & inculcate habit of doing Yoga everyday.

This activity was a form of feedback activity from students in the form of speech/opinion of students on “Fit India School Week-2020” through their 1 minute video. The videos sent by the students were very amazing as these contained lots of positive outputs along with their experiences.
With this GVV ended up with its “Fit India School Week-2020” with great gusto & the report of each day was uploaded on the “Fit India School”website as well as GVV school website.
Our school also received day wise six certificate for organising “Fit India School Week- 2020.”
Our School is celebrates 20 days sports events every year but this year we focused it as “ FIT INDIA SCHOOL WEEK” also under the guidance of our Honorable Director Mr. Santosh Bagora, Executive Director Mr. Prakhar Bagora & Principal Mrs. Rama Sharma certain Activities were undertaken during the fitness week celebration.
“Health is not about the weight you lose, but about the life you gain! Fitness is not about being better than someone else it’s about being better than you used to be”.
With this motive Yoga & Free hand exercise for all students has conducted in our school by our trained PTI Mr. Akash Yadav a workshop was also conducted for Classes VI to XI I for students as well as teachers in which our Sports Officer Mr. Dushyant Sharma revealed the different ways in which a body & mind can be made fit. He explained the true meaning of fitness along with importance of nutrition in everyday life. He also explained about body functioning, different exercises performed daily and asked all to perform the same every day.
Healthy diet is necessary for all if we want to stay healthy. Accrording to this motive our school has celebrated “ Sativik Aahar Saptah” for Nur to XII classes along with the teachers . Students brought healthy food in their lunch box for whole week for eg Sprout chat, fruit salad, fruit custard, salad bhel, green vegetables ,leafy vegetables & chapatti etc.

By this thought our trained Sports Officer physical training instructor Mr.Dushyant Sharma & Miss Megha Parmar has taken workshop of students to download this app. They explained all points to download it as it is very beneficial to make them fit & healthy.
Our art & craft teachers Ms. Jyoti Maheshwari & Mrs. Kusum Singh conducted Poster Making Competition for students from classes VI to VIII on theme “ FIT BODY- FIT MIND-FIT ENVIRONMENT” , Competition had been condecuted successfully & large number of students had participated . We also awarded three best performances..
Physical activities for all students were celebrated in our school with great gusto. The Chief Guest of the day was an eminent sports personality Mr. Bhagwat Singh Rathore. Physical activities were organized like Sports Dance , Aerobics, Yoga ,Martial Arts, Rope skipping, Gardening etc with great enjoyment, Enthusiasm was seen in different performances. The program was a miniature of Olympics with the decorated arrangement of the ground. Essay writing competition for class X students was organised under the guidance of our language faculty we also awarded three best writers.
Sunday, 17 November, We decided this date & day because it was a holiday, so parents could come to school in fresh mood and spend long time. This day our school organised Yoga & PT for invited Parents, Teachers & Students. Some parents came in track suit also After Yoga & PT the school organised lemon race, 100 m race & skipping Parents enjoyed a lot. We had awarded medals & certificates also to winner parents .After that we arranged different regional games between teachers & students like Gilli Danda, Sithiolia, Poshampa , Langri etc. They all had lots of fun and enjoyed themselves thoroughly achieving certificates & Medals.
An Inter house Quiz Competition was organized for classes XI XII students. The theme was sports /Games under Fit India Movement. We have four houses in our school Kalam, Tagore, Bose & Vivekananda. Students from all four houses had attended this competition. It comprised of two rounds.
Question were based on fitness , sports & games .The Winner house was Vivekananda house & the runner up was Kalam House, School awarded them with Certificates & Medals.
This was the last day to celebrate “FIT INDIA SCHOOL WEEK “. But not least as our school oranises these type of activities throughout the year.
